If you have a preference, please inquire when purchasing.<br>This is a little overkill for a crystal radio receiver, but I wanted something that was a good performer. We have a local 50K watt AM station that renders a simple crystal set pretty useless without a tunable trap. So this set has a tunable trap control right on the front panel that covers the full am spectrum, just in case you have a similar situation with BCI where you live. I find that even though our local station is really powerful and pretty invasive, the trap will null out about 95% of the interference, reducing it to a tolerable level.<br>All this is possible with one jumbo size plug-in coil form that I have custom made for this radio. The color of the magnet wire may vary, depending on what I have in stock, so it could be red, green or copper color.<br>The circuit uses two L/C tuned circuits, which are paralleled to one front panel control, using a dual 265pf capacitor. A separate tuning capacitor adjusts the antenna coupling.<br>Headphone volume is quite adequate for most medium power am stations, with good selectivity that is made possible by the dual tuned circuit, along with the adjustable BCI trap.<br>This receiver requires a high impedance 2 to 4k ohm inductive or piezo headphones (not included in this listing).<br>The size of the radio chassis is about 6.0 x 3.5 x 2.25 inches. This is similar to some of my other crystal sets, but I'm finding that a fine tuning control for the am broadcast band is really unnecessary, so this radio has the 3 controls on the front panel, which are main tuning, BCI trap adjustment and antenna coupling.
