Silver Plated IS 101 COFFEE POT CABIN SERVICE US LINES 52 SS United States 05044

Description

Up for auction is a silver plated double walled coffee pot from cabin service made for the United States Lines ship S.S. United States.  I believe the 52 is in reference to the 1952 maiden voyage.  This thing looks like it was on the ship for its entire life.  It has dents, dings and scuffs with some blistering.  The International catalog has this shown as number 101.  The piece is numbered on the base 05044.  The lip along the top has indentations, the sides has dents and the edge of the base has a dent.  It displays well but has some trauma.  The hinge is secure but the logo is weak.  The lids finial has about a 3 degree lean to the back.  Well used and well loved.  The pot weighs just under 2 1/2 pounds.  The shipping weight will be around 4 pounds.
