Description
A superb and rare image of the fantastic 1911 Pierce factory team. The Pierce motorcycles were manufactured by the Pierce Cycle Company in Buffalo, New York, from 1909 untill 1913. Its parent company, the Pierce Arrow Motor Car Company build very luxury automobiles. The motorcycle was designed by Perry Pierce, son of George Pierce, the owner of the Pierce empire at the time. The Pierce four cylinder was the first American four cylinder motorcycle ever made. The frame, build from unusually large tubing, doubled as both the fuel and oil tank.
The design was inspired by the Belgian FN four, yet differed because it had a T-cylinderhead. It featured shaft drive. It was a very interesting and historic machine that was very modern for its time.
It is a very historic image. It is rare to obtain a non period image like this, so it also is your very rare chance to own this image. Therefore it is printed in a nice large format of 7.8" x 11.8" (20 x 30cm). It is great the way it is, and would look gorgeous when framed.
