Oakum Fire Tinder Bundle, Cattail Fluff and Charcloth Fire Starter
The material used in Oakum comes from the fiber of virgin natural hemp or jute. The fibrous material of Oakum is very flammable and makes for a great tinder bundle. It makes for a wonderful nesting material when separated and fluffed up to use with bow drills, hand drills, fire pistons, flint and steel, char cloth, etc.,to start your fire.  It can be ignited very easily using a ferrocerium rod or fire steel or with just a strong magnifying glass.
Cattail fluff is a great fire tinder used to start your fire.
Each cattail used is handpicked and hand packed.
