Description
This module let's you to activate Apple CarPlay function and Goodle Android function at Mercedes Car (see compatibility chart lower this page) with COMAND or Audio20 head unit (no navigation) at most of cars MY2016-MY2019 where these functions is not activated from the factory. SImple OBD2 plug - no head unit removal necessary.
HEADUNITS UPDATED BY DEALERSHIP AT 2019 ALSO SUPPORTED NOW

READ THIS!!! IMPORTANT:
at 2015-2017 cars Audio headunit firmware have to be updated to the recent one at the dealer site.
!!! Not gonna work at non-updated units.
Q: My car is not in the list - may be it will work?
A: Definately not. 100% sure
Q: I just updated my Audio20 at 2019 will it work?
A: yes, tested to work at updated 2019+ units where other activator do not
Q: My car MY2016 and in the list will it work?
A: production date is important. Check dealers datacard by your car vin number to double check. MY2017 - MY2019 cars definately supported but MY2016 may not - send the vin number before you order
Q: Why W212/W218 chassis not supported?
A: HeadUnit hardware different and Daimler does not have CarPlay for that HW
Q: I have a W205/X253/V447/W222 - will it work?
A: No, but I have a separate module for
W205/X253 MY2018 with SA154 - check my other items
Q: I would like to order just to try on my own risk. Can I return if does not work?

OPERATION MANUAL (SINGLE FUNCTION MODULE):
CHARGE YOUR CAR BATTERY 100% as activation takes 10-15 minutes !!!
in case you do not have the car charger - just start your car motor leave at idle for 60 minutes MINIMUM
start the motor
then stop the motor
turn your ignition (keyfob position 1) On but
DO NOT START THE MOTOR
IGNITION SWITCH POSITION 1 (NOT 2)
wait minimum 60 seconds till audio head unit totally booted
plug module to the diagnostic socket under the dash (also called OBD2)
observe your audio head unit screen for messages
you will see "waiting..." message about 20 seconds
then you will see HWID: xxxxxxx - your audio head unit serial number
then it starts counting: working ....1,2,3...... MAY TAKE up to 15 minutes
do not REMOVE THE MODULE till you see the message
audio20 will be rebooted ones or even more time
then you see message "Succesful, CarPlay ON"
remove module from diagnostis socket
may does not work for the first time - just try one more time
OPERATION MANUAL (2 or more functions with one module):
turn ignition on (ACC position 2) but DO NOT START THE MOTOR!!!
wait till audio head unit will be totally booted (60 seconds)
switch audio unit to the radio mode (press RADIO button)
plug module to OBD2 disgnostic socket
you will see "unlock more features" or other message
here you need to select the function you need to apply:
1> or 2> .... 5> or whatever activated
to select function please use:
at the cars with NO COMAND numeric buttons - use controller rotation left and right and confirm with pressing controller down
at the car with COMAND head unit numeric buttons - use << or >> COMAND buttons and confirm with * (star) button or at NTG4.5 hear unit with COMAND ON button
rotate controller till you see the function you'd like to activate (for example 1> VIM for HU5s2)
confirm with pressing controller knob down or * button at COMAND
you will see :HWID.... and other messages that means activation started
then you see the message "Successful, xxxxxxxx" = activation finished
remove module
test your function

READ THIS AFTER YOU SUCCESFULLY ACTIVATED CARPLAY!!!
I do not recommend you to let your dealer to make a software update of your COMAND or Audio 20 head unit as ANY TIME IN THE FUTURE Daimled can close possibility of that activation. Y
