    Hello!! and thank you for looking at my item.
    Up for bids is vintage Chrysler / Mopar auto Radio. Unit is a nice candidate for restoring. This radio was installed in most of Chrysler’s 1961 cars. This radio was manufactured by the Bendix Radio Division in
    Baltimore
    ,
    MD
    in 1961. This unit contains 3 electron tubes. It’s a superhet based unit and receives signals on the (MW) AM band only. The unit is powered on 12 DC-set volts. The exterior case is made of metal. The original price of the unit is unknown. The unit was not fully tested however it was given a detailed inspection and some minor bench testing rendering the following:
    The exterior metal case has some surface rust (nothing that will impair the operation of the unit). All of the writing on the front is legible and can be read. The 2 of the 7 original knobs on the front are missing however the 2 shafts are present and functional. The remaining 5 push buttons are present and functional. The dial indicator is present. When the tuning knob is turned the tuning indicator moves across the dial. The drive string is worn and loose. The plastic cover on top of the tuning dial is present with no major cracks or scratches. Inside of the unit is slightly dirty and has some surface rust on the chassis. No burn marks or smells emitting from the unit. All three tubes removed, tested and reinstalled rendering the following: 1ea 12FX8-tested good, 1ea12EK6-tested strong and 1ea 12FK6-not tested. The unit was not powered up. Great addition to a vintage radio collection. Overall it’s a nice piece to complete the restoration project.
