    ~ 1 leather coal catcher
~ 30 wraps of jute twine
    ~ 60 mini jute/wax candles
~ 1 small jar of ground chaga
    ~ small pile of fatwood
General Instructions: ( Please reference Youtube for detailed video)
    Stage 1: Prepping your tools
~Use a knife or drill bit to start a small hole 1/2-5/8 inch from edge of fire board
~Burn in the board until the full diameter of the spindle has worn a black mark (see bow use)
~Cut a pizza slice into the side of the fireboard so that its point is 1/8-1/16 in from the center of the burn
    Stage 2: Bow use
~Work in the bow by gently yet firmly pulling and releasing the string 10-15 times
~Load your spindle near the less pointy end
~With the bow in a vertical position place the bottom on a stable surface
~Push down on the top end to partially loosen the string
~Twist the spindle around the string near the blunt (less pointy) end
~With the hand that was applying downward pressure grab the spindle so the string splits your fingers.
(this will keep the spindle from untwisting and flying across the room)
~With the same hand position your elbow and forearm so that the back of the bow cannot rise up
~Using your free hand place the coal catcher under your fireboard centered on the burn
~Place your off foot on the fireboard holding it firmly in place
~Place the blunt end of the spindle in your burn
~Grab the stone hand hold and insert the pointy end of the spindle into the hole
~Press down firmly with the hand hold so that the spindle is now stable
~Release your grip on the spindle and slide your hand down the string toward the base of the bow
~Grip the wooden part of the bow and carefully work your hand up 1/3 of the bow
~Keeping the bow as level as possible work it back and forth to turn the spindle
    Stage 3: Ember creation
