  • Condition: Coin fashioned into a pendant - so condition of the coin is no longer flat and has a bail added to the top! King George portion is under a thick piece of glass. It has not tarnished, but was definitely circulated and has surface scratch wear marks. The elaborate design has some wear and tarnish. The sterling chain slips over the head. There is no clasp.

    Description

    Dated 1944 AUSTRALIA Silver Coin - KING GEORGE VI FLORIN.
    The coin has been fashioned into a pendant with the side edges curled up and fitted with a thick piece of glass.  A bail was added to the top.
    It is attached to a sterling silver 23-1/2" chain that has no clasp.
    King George IV is visible through the glass, without any tarnish.
    The back/outside of the coin has a Kangaroo on the left and an Emu on the right with the Crown and Shield in the middle.  "FLORIN" is marked along the top edge with the bail attached between the letters "O" and "R".  "AUSTRALIA" is marked along the bottom edge, beneath the date "1944".
    It was photographed on top of a 1" square grid ruler with 1/8" increments.
