I believe this screwdriver was standard issue for the WWII Military Jeeps and also other Military vehicle tool kits, as the WC, CCKW, and DUKW vehicles during the era.
The screwdriver is stamped on the middle of the shank shaft
IRWIN US OF A.
I believe the Federal Government stock number was #41-S-1076,
and was the same number as #A-375 for the MB Willys, and GPW-17020 for the Ford GPW.
The handle is a two part wood handle that is riveted on both sides. The metal shank is a natural metal finish and runs all the way through the handle.
The screwdriver is approx. 11 1/4" long, with a 3/8" wide tip.
The screwdriver is in lightly used condition, has been cleaned and the handle recoated with clear coat lacquer finish……SOMEONE WAY BACK WHEN FILED THE BLADE EDGE ON BOTH SIDES DOWN A VERY LITTLE TO FIT A SMALLER SCREW SLOT……..
